This article is a few photos and descriptions of theWings of War miniatures publishedby Nexus Games. The miniatures are for use with Wings of War Famous Aces,Watch Your Back, and Burning Drachens rulesand other WWI dogfighting games.See the Wings of War site for more info.

The minis are prepainted and ready for gaming. The minis have fantastic paint jobs and decals and a nice satin finish for protection. My only gripe is that there is no pilot in the cockpit.

To the right we see the Sopwith Camel of Barker and the Spad XIII of Fonk, two famous allied aces.

The bases and a deck of cards are used to move the minis.A card with a maneuver is placed to the front of the base.An arrow on the card gives the plane its new position.Once moved, if there is an enemy in range in the firing arc, adamage card is drawn to try to kill the enemy.A very simple game, but fun with many planes.

To the right we see Udet's Albatross D. VA and Richthofen's famous red Fokker DR I.

The planes also have 4 pegs for different altitude settings. The minis rules are available for free at the Nexus site.

There are 12 miniatures in all in the first series. I only got 4,one of each type in the first group. The planes are all unique in pilot and color scheme.

It is my understanding that these minis are selling well.Good, I hope that means they come out with more seriesof models.I'm sure the creative people at my club will build clouds, derigibles, and other scenery for use in the minis game.

Nee-aww, nee-aww, nee-aww.I'm almost on your tail. Not much to write, just a few planes to see.

Thanks for reading about my Wings of War miniatures.More miniatures and scenery photos are located at the Miniatures section.Hopefully there will be more planes and photos in the future.
